People for the Poor sets record in giving away over $500,000 to those in need
Twelve years ago Caroline Scherrer and Mike Scott founded People for the Poor.
Simply put, PFTP manages fundraisers to raise as much money as possible, then give it all away to SJ homeless shelters and soup kitchens.
At our recently Annual dinner, PFTP gave away $70,000 putting the organization over the $500,000 mark in monies donated to those in need!
Upon receiving their $7,000 check, personal “success” stories are related by each PFTP supported charity reflecting their organization’s mission.
These charities are:
• Home for the Brave, Veterans Homeless Shelter, Camden, NJ
• Covenant House, Atlantic City, NJ
