“Sister Jean’s Kitchen feeds hungry people on the streets of Atlantic City and we could not do this important work without the support of friends like the People for the Poor. Each year, People for the Poor raises funds to give to organizations like Sister Jean’s Kitchen, that ARE the safety net that keeps our brothers and sisters who are less fortunate from perishing of exposure and hunger. People for the Poor represents the compassionate heart in so many Americans here in South New Jersey who really do believe we are “our brothers’ keeper”. I hope you will support the efforts of People for the Poor because the work we are doing together in partnership all over southern New Jersey is the work of being a part of the human community. God bless you Caroline and all of the People for the Poor!
– Rev. John R. Scotland, Executive Director of Sister Jean’s Kitchen.

“Thanks to the partnership with People for the Poor, New Visions Homeless Day Shelter is able to provide a nutritious breakfast and lunch to 150 of our homeless brothers and sisters each day. The guests that we serve come to New Visions for the hot meals, the clothing, and the laundry and shower facilities. However, aside from the basic needs and social services that we provide, the guests seek a sense of community, a sense of belonging, and a sense of family. Thank you to the dedication and commitment of People for the Poor, New Visions Homeless Day Shelter is able to continue the work that God has called us each to do.”
– Kevin Moran, New Visions Homeless Shelter
